FAQ

What are the steps I need to take in getting a web site through RnD Web Services?

First, contact us for a free consultation.  For documentation purposes, we prefer to communicate electronically via email.  This ensures nothing is left out of the discovery phase.  Once your needs have been determined, we will document your needs and the services we will provide you in a SOW (statement of work).  You are under no obligation at this point.

You will then review the SOW and make any changes you desire.  Once both parties have agreed upon the expected deliverables of the SOW, then the SOW serves as a binding contract for you project.  Changes can still be made to the project via our formal (PCR) Project Change Request form.  A PCR can be initiated by either party, and once both parties agree upon the change, it becomes part of the SOW.  A PCR can increase or decrease total investment by you (and project turn-around).  We never surprise our clients with unexpected charges.

Once the SOW is complete, the development begins.  We start by designing your web site template which dictates the look, feel and navigation of your new web site.  You are presented with electronic proofs to review and accept.  Changes are made to your template until you are completely satisfied.

Once your template has been developed and accepted by you, it is deployed using Centric, our custom developed CMS (Content Management System).  At this point, your web pages are built, and your site begins to take shape.

Once the web site is completed, it's time for CAT (Customer Acceptance Testing).  This process involves you, our client, reviewing and testing all aspects of your site to ensure you are 100% satisfied.  Once you accept the site dictated by the terms in the SOW, you are invoiced for the project.  Once payment has been received, your site is turned on and made available to the public!

It doesn't end there!  We fully support all of our clients with future needs and ongoing development.  In addition, our custom CMS, Centric, is continually updated with new features that you can utilize to enhance your web site.
